 This collection of site-specific performances pays homage to spaces that welcomed and nurtured Black communities, offering havens of freedom and solidarity amidst historical oppression. Inspired by Victor Hugo Green’'s "The Green Book: The Negro Travelers' Guide" published in 1936 and published annually.  They make space for Black voices and presence, highlighting these lost narratives' loud silence. My purpose in creating these performances is to erect a new definition of monument. Redefining the term as a temporal structure that does not seek to conquer or claim space but for a brief moment brings a sense of aliveness and dialogue. Odes are determined by the site, so the audience captures a vanishing moment. These acts of revival bring art in the open that doesn't require a fee or an enclosed space but a trip to wherever you’re heading.
